So many people want to build a writing habit.

Well, here’s one of the easiest ways to do it:

1. Open your camera roll

2. Pick a picture you like

3. Write about that memory

It takes all thinking and friction out of the process.

If you do this for 30 days, at the end you will be someone who writes every day.

And if you are someone who writes every day, then you will be someone who is more aware, more reflective and more articulate.

And those qualities will change your life and career.

Writing is not just for “writers.”

I heard writing once described as “windshield wipers for the mind,” and I think that’s a perfect description.

There’s a reason Amazon founder Jeff Bezos believes in written memos instead of PowerPoints.

There’s a reason Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates does a “Think Week,” where he reads and writes.

Writing produces clear thinking.

There’s not a person on earth who won’t be better at what they do if they invest in clarifying and sharpening their thinking on a daily basis.

Set aside 15 minutes a day for writing.

Use this camera roll prompt or something else that inspires you.

Your future self will thank you.

Here’s one photo from my camera roll that I wrote about recently – a beautiful sunset near Zion National Park.
